There is a lot of things that stink about everything going on with these january 6 hearings. Like why a known antifa member dressed in MAGA hat and a Trump shirt on video telling people to charge the Capitol and widely known as the first person to break a window was never charged or even brought in for questioning, a man named Ray Epps seen on video on January 5th telling people we need to charge the capitol on January 6th and seen on the 6th telling people to go this way to the Capitol was never questioned or charged, and there are men and women still sitting in a jail cell a year and a half later not even charged yet. Stephen Colbert and his crew broke into the Capitol a few weeks ago and harassed Republicans. They were charged but just a few days ago those charges were dropped and like I said, there are still people sitting in jail for over a year. Why wasn't Pelosi questioned on why she didn't approve the national guard to come in when Trump asked for it? Do you think maybe those text messages have something to do with that?
The whole thing stinks and honestly, I'm sick of hearing about it like it is another bombshell to drop daily. I'm glad to see people like Cheney are going to lose their political seats over these lies they have been spewing

I'm glad to see people like Cheney are going to lose their political seats over these lies they have been spewing Not watching Fox News, CNN, or MSNBC, I'd never heard of Ray Epps, so I googled him (albeit briefly). Here's some of what I found, but it's enough for me: "While Mr. Epps was a participant in some of the events that unfolded on Jan. 6, the claim that he inspired the Capitol riot in a “false flag” plot is solely based on the fact that he has never been arrested and therefore must be under the protection of the government. But scores, if not hundreds, of people who appear to have committed minor crimes that day were investigated by the F.B.I. but have not been charged or taken into custody.Mr. Epps said that he had acted stupidly at times when he and one of his sons took a last-minute trip to Washington for Mr. Trump’s speech about election fraud. But he said that he had managed to avoid arrest because he reached out to the F.B.I. within minutes of discovering that agents wanted to speak with him."Here's the article: www.nytimes.com/2022/07/13/us/politics/jan-6-conspiracy-theory-ray-epps.htmlIt doesn't support an ANTIFA connection.

I didn’t say Epps was part of antifa. Another person was and I was going to bring up The NY Times article as it was a complete fluff piece for Ray Epps. It was also proven he never called the FBI. The NY Times was shown to make that up and The NY Times is somehow calling Epps a victim for some reason. Still doesn’t explain to me why this sham committee hasn’t interviewed when they have interviewed others that supposedly talked to the FBI

In reading the original post, I thought you were identifying Epps as "the ANTIFA guy". The way the sentence was structured, I see how I read it that way, but after 4 or 5 re-reads, I can see how maybe you were talking about 2 different people too. Like I stated previously, I'd never heard of Epps before today. Heck, for that matter, I only saw the headline about the Colbert crew being arrested, and then the headline today about charges being dropped. No idea about any of the particulars. Assuming you're referring to Epps with your last sentence I highlighted? From a different article I just read after your rebuttal (some publication identified as "Insider"): "Epps was also questioned by the House select committee investigating the Capitol riot in November and told them he was not connected to the FBI, Politico reported."www.businessinsider.com/trump-supporter-ray-epps-january-6-conspiracy-theory-ruined-life-2022-7

The NY Times also ran several articles about Ray Epps. All trying to show him as some sort of victim

I really don’t care about connections to antifa or anything. Just want people who broke things and hurt others to be prosecuted. And while many disagree with this statement, I do take looting the Capitol building a lot more seriously than looting Target.
I am still failing to see a direct connection to Trump coordinating this so the trial is junk to me. Rhetoric and nonsense is just that. Those people storming the Capitol need to have their own personal responsibility. That said, I’d love to see the secret service text messages from that day.

Also think Bannon cracking is bad for Trump. He’s a bad guy. He will do anything possible to save his butt and I think that includes lying about Trumps knowledge of his project that day. He’s ultimate scum.

A federal offense (basically an attempted violent overthrow of the US government, no matter how organized/disorganized or successful/unsuccessful) is no comparison to looting of businesses. Both need criminal penalties paid, but the seriousness is quite different. On the 2nd statement, couldn't agree more, again. Much like the phone calls, correspondences, and discussions conducted by US Presidents with other countries leaders, those communications should be considered government property (not personal property), and should never be permitted to be deleted (if that's what actually happened). You might have to go through the courts to get access to them, but they need to be preserved for some years of time. My guess is that they have been preserved, and can still be obtained, but the committee and public are just being stalled for now. The phones are government issued and government paid. Just like your work issued phone/computer, you don't own it, or it's contents, even though you may be permitted to use them for personal matters.

I also believe storming the Capitol and breaking and looting is also more serious than looting a Target but I just want the same rules for everyone. Why are some being charged and others are not for doing the exact same thing? People will disagree with me but this whole thing was a huge setup. Certain people threw gasoline on a fire that was smoldering and now we are going to form a one sided committee to blame Trump. And it goes all the way up to Pelosi in ignoring Trump and not calling the national guard.
Funny also how it is not widely known about Colbert or Epps or the antifa member. Funny how the media does not report on those also

People miss the very simple parts of this. Who cares if there was collusion between him and supporters to have a coup. Just stick to real facts.
Trump criticized Mike Pence for doing his constitutional duty Individuals involved with a lot of whacko groups were willing to do his bidding for him He didn’t try to stop it for several hours
The idea that people think he’s “strong” is crazy too. He’s weak. A loser. Crybaby. Whiner etc.
I’ll gladly vote for a president who wants to put tariffs on China, cut taxes to middle class, produce energy here in America etc. just not this one. We should be excited that he had good ideas that we can build from. He can ditch Trump the person and move on. Republicans only hurt themselves by allowing him to assimilate with the party.

The GOP really needs to move on. Trump lost the popular vote to Hilary by 3,000,000 and then followed that up losing to a weak candidate in Biden by 7,000,000. He is killing the Republican brand. Just read an article that said basically, you have 25% of the electorate that will always vote Republican and 25% that will always vote Democrat. It's the 50% in the middle that decides the election and Trump is bleeding votes from that part of the electorate. The GOP needs to get rid of him and clear the field for someone that actually knows what they're doing. Hell, I'm not a huge Mike Pence fan, but he'd still be a major upgrade over Trump and even Biden. Plus, he wouldn't do anything overly stupid and neither side would have to worry about him wandering off the reservation.

Unless I read somewhere in the near future that when Mike Pence finally got back to the White House after Jan 6, he chased The Donald around the Oval Office desk, whooped his azz, and stuffed DT's head in his KFC bucket, he won't get my vote. lol DT's lucky I wasn't his VP!

If Putin/Russians, Xi Jinping/Chinese, or Ali Khamenei/Iranians were deemed to be behind this shit, 99% of Americans would be calling for a firing squad (without any hearing).

I meant collusion between Trump and the oath keepers or proud boys not a foreign entity.
