Heard we are getting another 1-3 inches today into tomorrow morning. Bad part is we haven’t gotten that one or two warm days to melt off some of the previous snow so it just keeps piling up

Do any of you watch Weather World on the Pennsylvania Cable Network? It is on the air at 5:45 M-F. It is produced by the meteorology department at Penn State (where all the weathermen come to learn the trade) They give a good look at the weather for Pa. ...daily, weekly and long term trends and throw in some lesson each day during this packed 15 minute broadcast. Started watching it when my granddaughter was going to college in Gettysburg to see what was going on there. BTW the locals pronounce it Get Tis burg...not Getees like the rest of us. this gives a nice, quick heads up on what to expect and you get to see some young future weather people in training.

I did not look at any of the PA forecasts for yesterday/today, but the Cleveland meteorologists collectively had a swing and a miss regarding the latest snow. The forecase was for a 3-6" storm Monday afternoon into Tuesday am, but rather the storm hit probably 6-8 hours earlier than expected and also ended earlier than expected. The good being that because of the timing it actually did not impact school (although the car and bus rides for half day Pre-K/K types of students was probably a bit rough). The bad being that seemingly no one was prepared for it to hit when it did (I worked at noon and had to travel uncleaned major roads in areas that usually do a good job clearing the roads that did not on Monday). Made for a long post work last night (I had to snow throw both mine and the neighbor's driveway at 11pm at night after walking the dog who was expecting his walk just after 10 lol).

I’m the first to say the weathermen blew it but I must say they’ve been pretty good so far this winter in western PA.
My favorite is when they call for a bunch of snow when anybody can look at a map and step outside and realize from 3rd grade science class that it’s going to rain all day if it’s 40 degrees. That has yet to happen this year.

Looks like we got another storm coming. Thursday into Friday they are calling for 2-6 inches around my area in Beaver county. The bad thing is we are supposed to get rain on Thursday with dropping temps so they are also calling for a quarter inch of ice which will make everything miserable

I shoveled more snow this January than I did all last winter.
