Back in 1986 to celebrate the Statue of Liberty's 100th anniversary one of my friends and 3 of his buddies built a replica overnight on one of the old railroad piers on the river by Harrisburg. The original Lady Liberty received serious storm damage in the early 90's so the same 4 guys replaced it with a 25 foot, 4 ton version that will never go anywhere. They had to use a helicopter to set it on the pier and it's a thing of beauty when you drive along the river. If you click on the pic, it will blow up and you can really see it.

I remember their first prototype made of venetian blind slats. It didn't last long but it was a good start that allowed the statue to evolve into what it is today.
For people driving past there for the first time it sure makes them do a double-take!
HAPPY FOURTH EVERYBODY !
